Scrip To Go

What is SCRIP? SCRIP is just another term for gift cards. SCRIP fundraising is an easy, no-selling program that allows families to raise money for St. Joseph School (SJS) Parents' Club by using gift cards, or SCRIP, to pay for everyday purchases.

Families buy the gift cards from SJS Parents' Club at face value. And SJS Parents' Club purchases them through Great Lakes Scrip (GLS) for less than face value. This discount amount is the rebate.

Half of the rebate is donated to St. Joseph School Parents' Club. It helps our organization cover our SCRIP expenses. We need to pay shipping ($7.75) for the gift cards each week that we order from GLS. We also have to pay for an annual software fee ($100), photocopies, office supplies, etc. And this is a significant fundraiser!

The remaining rebate is then split:

50% is a fundraiser for SJS Parents' Club

50% is your rebate to allocate. Your options are:

-Keep it for tuition rebate for the Fall

-Donate to another St. Joseph School family; Examples include: grandchildren, niece/nephew, neighbor/friend

-Donate your rebate to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Joseph Preschool, SJS Scholarship Fund, or SJS Parents' Club

Families raise funds while they shop using gift cards instead of cash, checks or credit cards at their favorite retailers. With a huge variety of brands to choose from, SCRIP makes an easy addition to any shopping routine. Just by regularly using SCRIP for their weekly purchases, a family can easily generate $200 or more in rebates in one year! And a matching amount for our Parents' Club.

Our favorite part of the program: You pay nothing above what you usually would. For example, a $100 gift card for Wal-Mart will cost you $100. We have gift cards for all types of retailers (gas, groceries, restaurants, department stores, pharmacies). You can ask relatives, friends and co-workers to place orders and contribute their rebates to your family to increase your tuition rebate. One family earned over $400 last year doing this!
